Gretta's Dog Training

About Us

Custom training solutions for humans and their dogs

  • We look for best dog training solutions that fit human’s lifestyle and dog’s needs.
  • We use reward based methods (positive reinforcement).
  • We educate and explain why certain (desirable and undesirable ones) dog behaviors appear in the first place. When you know “why” you better understand “how” to change/address them.
  • Our goal is to teach pet parents to solve small difficulties with their dogs without trainer’s help in the future.
  • We look for and analyze roots of psychological reasons for behaviors and treat the real problems, not fight the symptoms.

Gretta is trainer’s dog. She is her main inspiration, proud and engine to progress. Gretta is a mutt that was born and raised in Eastern Europe (Ukraine). Often she helps trainer as a demo dog, assistant and/or “distraction” during sessions.

Gretta knows tons of commands and fun tricks. Takes part in competition obedience and learns nose work.

Hi, my name is Maryna, I’m the founder and the trainer. Services

Private in-home training

If you want to take part in training process, educate yourself and become able to train your dog on your own, this service is right for you. Often the one who is holding a leash is a resource of dog’s calm and confident behavior or their fears and insecurities. That’s why besides training dogs, we also work on people’s handling skills.

Day training

The service is designed for pet parents who struggle with training on their own, have intense work schedule, want to get maximum efficiency from training and don’t have enough time to practice with their dogs. A trainer steps in and work with your pup one-on-one while you are at work or running errands.

Group classes
"Strong Engagement"

After work with hundreds of dogs and cases I have noticed one common feature that people have hard times with – absence of engagement. Their pups usually don’t listen, don’t hear them or struggle with it. This  class is devoted to building up a strong prolonged engagement between owners and their dogs. Once your dog has it, to teach them other skills and behaviors is so much easier. Without it – further training isn’t possible. We will go from more enclosed environment to real life situations gradually increasing the difficulty.

Group dog hike

Here we find dog hiking is the best therapy for dogs. Your dog is going to be taking out for a hike with a small group of dogs. Pick up and drop off are included.

95% of a time an excessive energy is a resource of forming and developing undesirable behaviors. Sign your dog up for dog hikes and give yourself 1.5 day of peace and quiet after each hike (based on feedback of our customers – this is how long it takes for them to recover :).
