"DOG! hear me out!"
Over years and hundred of dogs I trained, I have noticed that a strong engagement between a dog and his owner is a missing puzzle that creates a struggle for people to teach their pup any further skill. That means that almost in any outdoor situation your struggle to get your dog’s attention. They just don’t see you and don’t hear you. Sounds familiar?
Then “Fill the form” to reserve a spot in the group.
A strong engagement plays a huge part in such skills like responding to recall, overcoming excitement, learning to ignore distractions, greeting manners and just listen and be able to hear you out.
You name any skill or behavior and I will tell you that you need, first, a “strong engagement” with your pup.
Our program includes:
- forming and developing a skill to engage with you on a cue (2 classes);
- greeting manners “dog to dog” on a leash (1 class);
- greeting manners “dog to a stranger” (1 class);
- applying learned material into a real-life situation (1 class).

What will I learn? If this is your first time working with Gretta’s Dog Training and me, you will learn a ton. Besides teaching what to do, I like to explain why. That helps to understand dog’s perception, what motivates them and how to affect it.
You will learn how to teach your dog to:
- get engaged on a cue;
- get better at ignoring distractions;
- walk nicely on a leash;
- greet people politely;
- to stop and/or redirect excitement or frustration into engagement, etc. (this is where majority dogs start to form and develop reactive behaviors).
Why you might want to consider “Private in home sessions” or “Day training”? If your dog already has built up a strong barking habit at dogs or people or is fearful of them (growls or lunges at them; or shuts down and completely ignores you), I recommend considering private sessions. If you are not sure how to properly evaluate your dog, let me know and I will help you. Email me to grettasdogtraining@gmail.com or send a text to (872) 985 3830
